Income Levels, Payroll and Wages

INCOME LEVELS

As Central Oregon has steadily diversified its employment and economic base, its median income for a family of four has increased correspondingly.  At $58,800,  Deschutes County median income is virtually equivalent to the state's median of $58,900.  Crook County follows at $49,400 and Jefferson at $47,200.  All three counties in the region have experienced consistent income growth year-over-year.

Below we show the average wages offered for select occupations in the region. The average hourly wage reflects a blended rate for all three counties.  In most occupations, wages are below the state average which is driven primarily by the Portland metro area.  For additional occupations or information, visit the Oregon Employment Department website (www.olmis.org) and select either Region 10 or the Occupational Explorer tool.
