EDCO Board of Directors

Perhaps the most enduring and crowning internal achievement of Economic Development for Central Oregon is the outstanding leadership represented by the organization’s stellar volunteer board. Past Experience:
Barry has  30 years experience in banking and commercial real estate.  He enjoyed a long career with Bank of the Cascades, culminating in the position of senior vice president and regional manager, where he managed Redmond, Prineville, and Sisters locations. He joined Compass Commercial's Redmond office in 2006 for a two year stint.  Barry is now VP and Branch Manager with Columbia River Bank.  He holds a BBA in Business Administration from Wichita State University. 
Civic Involvement:
Barry is a past president of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce, Redmond Economic Development, and Redmond Executive Association, which he founded.

Past Experience:
Prior to coming to Deschutes County in 2006, Kanner was Deputy County Administrator of Jackson County OR. Prior to that, he was Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Wilsonville. Kanner was the Senior Public Affairs Specialist for Metro in Portland prior to working for Wilsonville.  Kanner is a communications graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, and has done graduate work in public administration at Portland State University.

Over 18 years experience in labor and employment law, serving employers throughout Central Oregon from the firm’s Bend office.
Prior to establishing a successful private practice in Bend, Tank was a partner at Perkins Coie in Anchorage, Alaska, where she represented clients such as Alaska Airlines, University of Alaska, and BP Exploration. Tank’s experience also includes positions at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, and she served as a visiting foreign attorney in Brussels, Belgium.
Served four years as editor of Alaska Employment Law Letter, and as Editor-in-Chief of the Oregon Law Review in 1987-1988.
